About the Program

PBSC was first established at the University of Alberta in 1999. In 2001, PBSC was officially adopted by Student Legal Services of Edmonton (SLS) as a Project. SLS was created in 1971 and is now the largest student-run non-profit legal organization in North America with over 250 student volunteers. Together, PBSC and SLS provide free legal information and assistance to members under-served communities in Edmonton and outside of the greater Edmonton area.

PBSC Alberta is generously funded by the Alberta Law Foundation and their law school through PBSC Alberta's partnership with SLS.
